In September Morpeth in Northumberland had as much rain in one night as they would expect in a month. This resulted in devastating floods which ruined many peoples homes, businesses and lives. Fortunately nobody lost their lives. Morpeth Lions and Castle Morpeth Borough Council arranged a Flood benefit concert at Newcastle City Hall on Sunday 19th October 2008. 4 Bands generously agreed to waive their fees to play and many other people gave up their time or provided facilities for the concert. A 1,000 people turned up to raise around £10,000. The bands featured were "The Honest Johns", "55 Degrees", "The Mosaics" and "Straightshooter"
